MEMBER SINCE 2021
Jennifer began her career with Central Kansas CASA in August of 2021. She became familiar with the CASA organization when her and her husband Ryan served as foster parents in a kinship setting many years ago. As a longtime Great Bend resident she has a special place in her heart for this community and children in need. She looks forward to making a positive impact through serving Central Kansas CASA in both her role as the Executive Director as well as a CASA volunteer.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology and Family Studies from Kansas State University in 2003. Outside of the office, she enjoys time at their family sandpit, camping and kayaking, and attending her children’s sporting events.
CINC (VOLUNTEER) COORDINATOR
MEMBER SINCE 2019
I’ve been with CK CASA over 3 years. I am a previous foster mom and wanted to stay involved in Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases, so I decided to become a CASA volunteer. While I was in training, the director indicated that they were needing part time help to enable the agency to oversee more volunteers. This caught my interest because training made me aware of the value of CASAs. Therefore, I became CK CASA’s CINC Coordinator. I get to assist volunteers, as well as have my own case(s). I get to be in the courtroom every week. And most importantly, I get to make sure the children’s voices are heard. It is a privilege to work for an agency whose mission is to serve as an advocate for abused and neglected children.
MEMBER SINCE 2005
I started working for Central KS Casa in January of 2005. Donna Staab was the director at that time and I had worked for her at Barton Community College and she was looking for someone to come in a few hours a week to file, pay bills, and help with some of the fundraising projects. And I am still here doing the same thing along with some added responsibilities. A lot has changed since then, Central KS Casa has grown- we have gone from several small fundraisers to basically one large fundraiser per year. We have a full time director, a part time CINC coordinator. Due to this growth we are able to train and recruit more volunteers- this includes our CASA volunteers and our fundraising volunteers. We are more visible in our community due to the commitment of the volunteers and to the CASA board. Central KS Casa continues to improve in ways we can support the children in our community who need someone to speak for them. I find this job very rewarding and am thankful for the opportunity to work with such great people.
